DIY: How to Make a Fall Wreath

Wreaths are such a versatile element of home decor. You can use a different wreath for every season; but, no matter the time of year, wreaths always express the sentiments of hospitality, warmth and joy –  feelings we all want out home to represent.

One of the best things about wreaths is that you can make them yourself with a low budget and just a few materials. Bring the cool, crisp feeling of autumn inside your home with the beautiful colors of the season of this fall wreath. It is so simple to make, you’ll be wondering why you didn’t make it sooner!

FullSizeRenderHere’s what you need:

  • Grapevine wreath (18in shown here, but use any size you prefer)
  • Faux fall leaves
  • Autumn-colored beaded garland
  • Plastic mini-pumpkins
  • Burlap bow
  • Glue gun
    Note: All materials can be found at your local craft store.

Instructions:

  1. Take the beaded garland and arrange it as desired on the grapevine wreath. Make sure a few key pieces of the garland are intertwined in the wreath so it stays secure. (No need for glue)
  2. Choose where you want to put your plastic mini-pumpkins. Using the glue gun, put a dollop of hot glue on the bottom of the pumpkin and place in your desired spot on the wreath. Press firmly for 15-30 seconds to make sure the pumpkin is set.
  3. Insert faux leave stems into the grapevine wreath and layer with more leaves, as desired. Place the leaves facing the same direction to help keep secure in the grapevine.
  4. Tie the burlap bow around the wreath in your desired location.
  5. Hang wreath and enjoy the many compliments you will receive!
